Wheel Chair Donation

Operation Friendship has partnered with the Rotary Club of St Andrew to distribute close to two thousand wheelchairs to physically challenged persons over the past nine years throughout the island of Jamaica.

This project, headed by Dr Lloyd Eubank-Green, a past president of the Rotary Club of St Andrew and assisted by Dr Webster Edwards together with a sub-committee of members of the St Andrew Rotary Club receives some 240 wheelchairs with a manufacturer's cost of approximately US$150 each from the Wheelchair Foundation annually.

Needy persons are identified by caring individuals, service clubs, schools, churches, hospitals and community organizations. Donations of wheelchairs are also made to homes for the aged, police stations, clinics and hospitals.
